FAQ About Pricing and Billing
Does it cost money to play a course?
Most courses in the app can be played for free. Communication charges required to use the app are the responsibility of the user.
Free play limits
Use of free courses is limited to 10 plays per day per event.
- The daily play count resets every day at 21:00 UTC (6:00 AM Japan time). In Central Europe this is 22:00, or around 23:00 during daylight saving time
- Plays are counted per "participant x category". Even if the same participant replays the same category, the play count does not increase
- Courses where the number of spots (controls excluding start and finish) is 2 or fewer and the time limit is 60 minutes or less (or with no time limit) are treated as trial courses and do not count toward the play limit
If you reach the free play limit
If you want to play free courses in the same event after reaching the daily limit, you can purchase additional play slots by in-app purchase. Added slots remain valid for 7 days from the purchase date.
Pricing for events outside Japan (from September 1, 2026)
From September 1, 2026, a new pricing scheme applies to events held outside Japan. Events held in Japan are not affected and keep the current scheme.
For events outside Japan, the free play quota per day per event depends on the organizer's plan.
| Organizer's plan | Play quota (per day per event) |
|---|---|
| Free | 10 plays |
| Organizer Plan | 30 plays |
| School/Club 100 | 100 plays |
| School/Club 500 | 500 plays |
- The Player Plan is unchanged (it does not affect play quotas)
- If you need more plays on a given day, you can still purchase additional play slots (1, 5, 20, or 50 slots) by in-app purchase
- School/Club 500 cannot be purchased in the app. Please contact support
See the official announcement for details of the new pricing scheme. For actual prices, check the in-app purchase screen and your store listing.

How do I subscribe to a paid plan?
You can subscribe by in-app purchase from the Settings menu in the iOS or Android app.
I canceled but I was still charged
After you cancel, the subscription remains valid until the end of the current billing period. Auto-renewal stops after that.
For example, if you cancel a monthly plan in the middle of the month, you can still use the plan features until the end of that month. You will not be charged after the next renewal date.
How to cancel
Subscriptions are canceled from the store settings, not from inside the app.
On iOS
- Open iPhone Settings
- Tap your name or Apple ID
- Tap Subscriptions
- Select NaviTabi and cancel it
On Android
- Open Google Play Store
- Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner
- Tap Payments & subscriptions -> Subscriptions
- Select NaviTabi and cancel it
:::caution Cancellation stops auto-renewal Even after cancellation, you can keep using the plan until the period you already paid for ends. Refund handling follows the store policy. :::
My purchase is not reflected / my plan is not activating
Due to network conditions and similar factors, the plan may take a moment to be reflected right after purchase. The app has a mechanism to automatically recover (re-verify) purchases, so in most cases it is reflected automatically after a short wait.
If it does not resolve quickly, try the following.
- In a location with a good connection, fully close and restart the app
- Wait a little while, then open the subscription screen again
- If it is still not reflected, try Restore Subscription (for one-time purchases such as additional play slots, try restoring the purchase)
If the purchase is still not reflected after the above, please contact support with your purchase receipt and your environment (iOS / Android).
I want to restore my subscription after changing devices
If you changed devices within the same platform, such as iOS to iOS or Android to Android, you can restore the subscription.
Restore steps
- Install NaviTabi on the new device
- Log in with the same NaviTabi account
- Open the subscription screen
- Tap Restore Subscription
:::note If restore does not work
- On iOS, check that you are signed in with the same Apple ID
- On Android, check that you are signed in with the same Google account
- Expired subscriptions cannot be restored :::
Can subscriptions be shared between iOS and Android?
No. Subscriptions are not shared between iOS and Android.
Subscriptions are tied to the store account of the platform where you purchased them.
- Purchased on iOS -> tied to Apple ID and valid only on iOS devices
- Purchased on Android -> tied to Google account and valid only on Android devices
If you move from iOS to Android or vice versa, you need to purchase a new subscription on the new platform. Do not forget to cancel the subscription on the previous platform if necessary.
Upgrade and downgrade
Player Plan -> Organizer Plan
The upgrade is applied immediately.
- iOS: The unused portion of the Player Plan is refunded on a prorated basis, and you are charged for the new plan (the renewal date changes to the day you switched)
- Android: The billing period stays the same, and you are charged the difference for the remaining period
Organizer Plan -> Player Plan
- iOS: The downgrade is applied on the next renewal date. Until then, you can keep using Organizer Plan features
- Android: The downgrade is applied immediately after you switch (the change in billing amount starts from the next renewal date)
If I add an event manager, can that person also use Organizer Plan features?
No. The Organizer Plan is granted only to the subscribed user. If you add an event manager, that person can handle basic event operations such as editing the event and managing entries, but Organizer Plan-only functions such as CSV export and mass start settings remain available only to the subscribed user.
If multiple managers need Organizer Plan-only features, each person needs their own Organizer Plan.
How can I check my purchase history?
You can check it from Purchase History in the settings screen (this opens the purchase history page of NaviTabi Web in your browser). The purchase date, event name, category name, and amount are listed, and you can also download the PDF maps of purchased courses from this page.
