After the Event
After the event ends, it is helpful to decide not only how to review results but also how to handle publication and data reuse. This page summarizes the main points to organize after an event run with NaviTabi.
Things to confirm first
- Photo checks and manual corrections are complete
- Return confirmation for all participants is complete
- Decide whether results should be public immediately or temporarily hidden
- Decide whether any data should be reused for the next event
How to think about result publication
Cases where immediate publication is fine
- Photo checks and manual corrections are barely needed
- Missed finish cases and participant inquiries have already been resolved
- Rankings and records can be published as they are
Cases where it is better to hold results temporarily
- Photo checks for top finishers are not complete
- Matching with standard camera photos or paper records is still needed
- Manual corrections or DNF handling still need review
Whether to keep the event public
If you keep it public
- You want participants to keep viewing records and route reviews
- You want to use it as a permanent course
- You expect later participation or repeat visits
If you make it private
- It was a one-time competition and you want to limit the record viewing period
- You do not want to reveal course details before the next edition
- You want to review approval-based settings or visibility range
Reuse for the next event
- If you reuse the spot layout, confirm that local conditions have not changed
- Instead of reusing the previous category as-is, adding a new category may be less confusing
- If you reuse data while keeping old results, make sure participants do not confuse past and current categories
Data worth organizing
- Results CSV and entry list
- Spots CSV
- PDF maps and spot sheets
- Inquiry notes from the event day and records of manual corrections
Things to review afterward
- Whether there were bottlenecks at the start or finish
- Whether there were places where GPS or communication problems happened easily
- Whether the punch method and photo-check operation were appropriate
- Whether any important explanation was missing from participant guidance
It is helpful to reflect improvements for the next edition back into Preparation Before the Event and Guidance for Participants.
