Manage Groups
With the group feature, you can share events with a specific club or community and run group-only events. This page organizes the flow from group creation to ongoing management.
:::tip Difference from Team Play Groups are a way to share events inside a community. If you want one category to be played cooperatively by multiple people, see Set up team play. :::
What is a group?
A group is a feature for sharing and managing events with specific members only.
- Create group-only events
- Share other events as group recommendations
- Let only members join certain events
Create a group
Groups can be created for free.
- Open the menu from the Find Groups screen
- Choose Create new group
- Enter the following information:
- Group name
- Description
- Icon image
- Cover image
- Country
- Whether approval is required to join
- Save it to create the group
The creator automatically becomes the group owner.
Invitations and join methods
There are two ways for people to join a group: public groups and approval-based groups.
- Public group: anyone can join
- Approval-based group: people can join only after a manager approves them
When there is an application to join or a new member joins, the owner and administrators receive a push notification. When you approve an application, the applicant also receives a notification (the notification text is currently in English).
Invitation methods
- Show a QR code from Share on the group screen
- Share a direct link
Users who receive the QR code or link can open the group screen and join from there.
Add managers
From the Members list on the group screen, you can change a target user into a manager.
To transfer ownership, select the target user in the member list and run Change to owner. The owner cannot leave the group, so if you want to leave the group, change the owner first.
Role differences
| Role | Main permissions |
|---|---|
| Owner | All management permissions (must transfer ownership before leaving) |
| Manager | Approve members, change roles, remove members; edit group info; manage group events; manage recommended events |
| Member | Join group events, comment, view information |
Run group events
Group managers can create and manage events that are visible only within the group.
- Open Manage group events on the group screen
- Choose Group Event
- From the menu, select Create New Group Event
- Configure the event name, categories, and other settings in the same flow as a normal event
The created event can be viewed and joined only by members of that group.
Add recommended events
In addition to group-only events, you can also share existing public events as recommended events for the group.
- Open Manage group events on the group screen
- Choose Group's recommended events
- Search by event name from the add button and select the event you want to share
Comments within a group
From the comment icon on the group screen, members can exchange comments with each other (members only). When a new comment is posted, all members except the author receive a push notification.
Good use cases
- You want to guide school or club training sessions only to members
- You want to share recommended public events inside a community
- You want to run events for specific members without opening them to the public
