My Spots and Public Spots
You can record places you find before you create an event, keep them in the app as spots, and import them into any event later. Spots you keep yourself are My Spots; spots other users have made public are Public Spots.
- Available only in the smartphone app (iOS / Android). Not available on the Web
- Sign-in is required. You cannot open it while signed out (anonymous)
- Creating, editing, and publishing My Spots, saving from Public Spots, and importing into an event are free. Only saving a spot that is already placed in an event to My Spots requires the Organizer Plan (or the School/Club Plan) — see Subscription and billing
How to open it
Open it from the toolbar of the event management screen.
Tap the Spots button at the top left of the Event management tab.
Tap the pin icon (My Spots) in the toolbar of the event management screen.
You can also open it from My Spots, right below Manage events in the side menu.
- It cannot be opened from a group's event list. It appears on your own event list
- While signed out, "Login required" is shown. See the Account FAQ for how to sign in
The screen shows a map on top and a list below. Only the spots within the visible map area appear in the list (this applies to My Spots, Public Spots, and the import screen). Moving the map updates the list, and tapping a row selects the spot on the map.
Recording a spot
Tap + (Add spot) on the My Spots screen to open the Record Spot screen (when you have no spots yet, the button with the same name in the middle of the screen also opens it).

If the accuracy exceeds 100 m, "Location accuracy may be low (over 100 m). Please verify the position on the map." is shown, but you can still save. Drag the map to correct the location before saving.
A recorded spot is saved as Only me. To show it to other users, switch it to public on the edit screen after saving (see Public Spots).
The My Spots list and editing
Each row shows the photo, name, notes (or the description if there are no notes), the Public badge, the last-updated date, and the distance from your current location.
- Sorting: use the sort button in the toolbar to switch between Newest (default) and Nearest (distance from the map center). The order returns to "Newest" when you reopen the app
- Editing: tap a row to open the edit screen (My Spots has no separate detail screen). In addition to the items on the record screen, you can set the Visibility, and Created / Last Updated are shown at the bottom
- Deleting: use Delete Spot at the bottom of the edit screen. A confirmation "This action cannot be undone. The photo will also be deleted." is shown. Spots already imported into events are not affected
There is no limit on the number of spots you can keep (the feature is designed for a few hundred spots).
Importing into an event
- Open All Spots in the destination event
- Tap the import/export button at the top right and choose Import from My Spots (unlike CSV import, no plan is required)
- On the Import Spots screen, tap the rows of the spots to import. Turn on Selected only to show only the selected spots
- Tap Import (N)
Only My Spots appear on the import screen. To use a public spot, first save it to My Spots and then import it. If you have no spots yet, you can create one on the spot from Record Spot on that screen and continue importing.
- The location, name, description, and photo are imported. Notes are not imported
- Spots that have already been imported are marked Already imported and cannot be selected (so the same place is not added twice). Deleting the copy on the event side makes the spot selectable again
- If importing several spots fails partway, the spots imported so far remain in the event. Open the screen again to select only the rest
"Imported spots are stored as independent copies in the event. Changes to the original spot will not be reflected." Editing or deleting the spot in My Spots does not change the spot in the event. Conversely, fixing the name or photo on the event side is not reflected in My Spots.
After importing, set the spot type, number, and points in the same way as for any other spot (see Course and Spot Settings — Spot type, number, and label).
Saving an event's spot to My Spots
You can save a spot that is already placed in an event to My Spots so you can use it in other events later. This requires the Organizer Plan (or the School/Club Plan).
- In the event's All Spots, tap the spot you want to save
- Choose Save to My Spots from the menu
- "Saved to My Spots. This is an independent copy from the source event." is shown. Open My Spots takes you straight to it
- The location, name, description, and photo are saved. Notes start empty
- Without a plan, the menu item has 🔒 at the end, and tapping it shows "To use this function, please subscribe to the Organizer Plan."
- This menu item is not shown for spots imported from My Spots (they are already in My Spots)
Public Spots
When you publish one of your My Spots, it appears on other users' Public Spots screen, and they can save and use it.
Publishing and making private again
On the edit screen, switch Visibility from Only me to Everyone and save. To make it private again, switch it back to Only me.
You can also swipe a row in the My Spots list to the left and use Make Public / Make Private.
- Newly recorded spots are always "Only me". You choose whether to publish each spot individually
- Copies saved from another user's public spot cannot be made public ("Spots saved from another user's public spot can't be made public." is shown and the spot stays "Only me"). This prevents the same place from being listed under a different person's name. Spots saved from an event can be published
- If a spot does not appear on the Public Spots screen right after you publish it, close the screen and open it again

Notes are not shown to participants when the spot is imported into an event, but they are visible to other users on the Public Spots detail screen. Check the content of your notes before publishing.
The creator name is your display name as set in the app settings (see Account FAQ — Information used for account setup). If your display name is your real name, check it before publishing. If your display name is empty, the creator row is not shown. If the creator name is missing or out of date, open the spot and save it again to update it to your current display name.
Viewing Public Spots
Tap the globe icon in the toolbar of the My Spots screen to open the Public Spots screen.
- Public spots within the visible map area are searched. When you move the map and stop, the search runs again automatically. "No spots in this area. Move the map to explore." is not an error
- Where spots are dense, not all of them may be shown. Zoom in to see them
- Each row shows the photo, name, last-updated date, number of comments, and distance. The creator name and notes are visible only on the detail screen
- Tap a row to select it on the map; tap it again to open the detail screen
Saving a public spot to My Spots
Tap Save to My Spots on the detail screen (no plan required). "Saved to My Spots. This is an independent copy of the original spot." is shown, the photo is copied, and the spot is added to My Spots as "Only me". You can freely edit the name and description of the saved spot and import it into an event as is.
- A spot you have already saved is marked Saved and cannot be saved again. Deleting your copy lets you save it again
- For spots you published yourself, "This is your own spot." is shown instead of the save button
- The original owner's notes are not carried over
- Public spots cannot be imported directly into an event. Save them to My Spots first, then follow the steps in Importing into an event
Status reports (comments)
If the site of a public spot has changed (it can no longer be passed, a landmark is gone, and so on), you can report it from Comments on the detail screen.
- When you post a comment, the spot's creator and everyone who has already commented on that spot receive a push notification. Tapping the notification opens the comment screen
- Comments on a spot you have published can also be read from Comments on that spot's edit screen (shown only for spots that are public)
- Sign-in is required to post a comment. While signed out, the input field shows "Sign-in required."
- Only the person who wrote a comment can delete it. The spot's creator cannot delete other people's comments
- If sending fails, "Couldn't send the comment. Please try again." is shown
If you find content that violates the terms of use, use Report inappropriate content in the Settings screen instead of a comment (see Participant Guide — Items on the Settings screen).
Limitations and notes
- Deletion cannot be undone. The photo and comments are deleted as well
- If the same spot is edited on two devices at the same time, the content saved last remains
- Importing into the same event from two devices at the same time may add spots twice
- There is no limit on the length of the name, description, or notes, but very long text may be cut off on the event's screens
- The list works even if you have not allowed location access; only the distance from your current location is not shown
