Results and Data Export

This page explains how to check results after an event and how to export data in various formats.

If you want the operational side of result finalization

For how to think about photo checks, manual corrections, and handling missed finishes, see Operations Guide - Event day operations and Operations Guide - Operational decisions for trouble cases.

What to check first

It is easiest to review results in the following order.

  1. Confirm that records exist for everyone who finished
  2. For top finishers or cases that need checking, review photos and passing records
  3. Make manual corrections or status changes if needed
  4. Decide whether to publish the results now or hold them temporarily
  5. Export the data in the format you need

For the event-day process and the publication decision itself, see Operations Guide - Event day operations and Operations Guide - After the event. This page focuses on checks and output operations available from the result screen.

Check results

Review rankings

From the ranking tab on the event details screen, you can review result lists by category.

  • Score courses: ranked by score, then by time for tied scores
  • Fixed Order courses: ranked by time
  • Finished participants appear above DNF cases
  • Tied participants with the same score and time receive the same rank number

Review an individual result

Tap a participant to check detailed information.

  • Score breakdown including visit points, quiz points, penalties, and adjustments
  • Lap data with passing time and split time for each spot
  • Route shown on a map
  • Photos taken with Camera Punch

Administrative actions

The following actions are available from the results screen.

ActionDescription
Adjust scoreAdd or subtract points manually
Change statusSwitch between finished and canceled
Set alias nameSet another display name for result output
Delete resultDelete a result from an event you organize

Participants worth checking first

You do not need to review every participant in equal depth. It is usually easier to start with:

  • Participants near the top of the ranking
  • Participants in categories where photo checks matter
  • Participants who made inquiries or reports
  • Participants whose finish time or visit records look unusual
  • Participants who may need DNF, cancellation, or manual correction handling

Cautions when making manual corrections

  • Before correcting anything, check the evidence such as photos, passing times, or communication logs
  • Apply the same standard to similar cases
  • Keep notes of the reason so you can explain it later

For judgment criteria, refer to Operations Guide - Event day operations and Operations Guide - Operational decisions for trouble cases.

Publish results

If Hide results and live map is off in the event settings, rankings are automatically visible to participants.

If that setting is on, you can publish results after the event by turning it off.

Things to review before publishing

  • Photo checks and manual corrections for top results are complete
  • DNF and cancellation handling is consistent
  • Display names and alias names are acceptable for publication
  • No category should remain as provisional results

For timing of publication, also see Operations Guide - After the event.

Points to check in Team Play results

  • Team rankings are shown as intended
  • You can explain how teams with a retired member are handled according to the announced policy
  • Staff share the same understanding of how team start time and finish time are defined

For Team Play specific rules, see Set up team play.

Export data

You can export various data from the Manage screen.

Exports that require the Organizer Plan

Results CSV export, IOF-XML Ver3 export, and PDF map export require the Organizer Plan.

Export on the web

At the moment, data export is available only in the smartphone app. On the web, only GPX download for individual activities is supported.
