Join a Group

The group feature lets you share events inside a club, team, or community and join members-only events.

Difference from Team Play

Groups are for sharing events and running member-only events. If you want a feature where multiple people combine scores during play, see Team Play.

What is a group?

A group is a community feature for sharing event information with specific people. Once you become a member of a group, it becomes easier to access events related to that group.

  • Share events inside a club or community
  • Join members-only events
  • View recommended events inside the group

Find a group

You can browse public groups from the group list.

  • iOS: Groups tab -> Find Groups
  • Android: Groups from the side menu -> Find Groups

You can filter the group list by country. When you open a group, you can check its description, membership conditions, and event information.

Join a group

Public groups

  1. Find the group you want to join from the group list.
  2. Tap Join on the group details screen.
  3. You become a member immediately.

Approval-based groups

  1. Tap Join Request on the group details screen.
  2. Your status becomes pending until a manager approves it.
  3. Once approved, you can access the group's events.

While you are waiting for approval

  • Check whether your join request was sent successfully
  • Check whether you received any additional guidance from the group manager
  • Reopen the group screen after approval

While you are waiting, members-only events may not appear yet. If you need to join urgently, also check guidance from the organizer or group manager.

You can also open the group details screen directly by scanning a group QR code shared by the organizer or by tapping a shared link.

If the link does not open the app, try opening the NaviTabi app first and then opening the link again.

Members-only events

Events created inside a group can be viewed and joined only by group members. They do not appear in the general event search or in the public event list.

You can check group events in the following places.

  • Group event area on the top screen
  • Events section on the group details screen

If you cannot find a group event

  • Your group membership has not been approved yet
  • You are logged in with a different account
  • The event has not been published yet
  • You are confusing a recommended event with a group-only event

Because these events do not appear in the general public search results, the group screen is the main place to look.

A group may also show recommended events shared with the whole group. This lets group managers highlight events so members can access them more easily.

Unlike group-only events, recommended events are public events that the group introduces to its members.

Things to know before joining

  • Joining a group does not automatically complete entry into an event
  • Even for group-only events, separate entry or approval may still be required
  • Even if the organizer gives Team Numbers, groups and Team Play are different features
